Terenine Technology Solutions is a new technology services company that its executives say brings big-business information tech services to small businesses.
John G. Painter, vice president of sales and marketing, said Terenine offers customers the flexibility to buy services in the increments they can afford.
The company allows smaller companies still have the same access to IT and data service opportunities as large companies, Mr. Painter said.

* Services: Storage, managed hosting, activity monitoring, 24/7 technical support, disaster recovery, colocation (housing a company's IT infrastructure at the facility) and virtual services.
* Launching: This coming Tuesday
* What prompted entry to the market: Terenine was an IT division of a privately held company managing the IT needs of other outfits. As those companies grew, it made sense to form a separate company, said John Shelley, vice president of managed services for Terenine.
Terenine uses virtualization and cloud computing, which essentially take one server, dividing it into individual sections which have many other virtual servers on it, he said. This method in turn helps companies to run more efficiently.
"The timing is perfect for Terenine because we built a data center infrastructure around this technology, whereas a lot of people are trying to change what they already deployed to make it work," he said.
* Biggest hurdle: "Establishing market presence, even though we have been operating for a few years. When you go from an internal to external group, it's entering a new market," Mr. Painter said.
* Biggest reward: Providing companies with better infrastructure. "Not only do they have a more robust infrastructure from a technology standpoint but a much less expensive infrastructure," Mr. Shelley said. With a better infrastructure, the staff can focus more energy on assisting clients instead of maintenance of the system.
* Where they hope to be in five years: "Established Southeast region data services provider, well-established market presence, well down the road on additional data center facilities," Mr. Painter said. "And continuing to be a leader in the technology industry - whatever that means."
