North Georgia resident and IdeaMarketers.com founder Marnie Pehrson will present a free workshop March 5 at Poplar Springs Voting Precinct at 470 Rollins Industrial Court in Ringgold.
The You're Here for a Reason: Impact the World with Your Message! seminar is designed to help small business owners and entrepreneurs who want to publicize themselves online.
"People locally don't need to be limited to local business. They can get business all over the world," Pehrson said.
For example, her website, founded in 1998, gives a local pizza place or lifestyle coach a platform for written articles and audio and video files that Web surfers, researchers, webmasters and e-zine editors can find and republish.
"For people who aren't sure what their message is I can help them pull it out," Pehrson said. "You can usually see a thread - people they admire, their own life experiences, who they like to work with, what they enjoy doing."
To make money online, she said, business owners must build more relationships by sharing what they know.
"A lot of what I teach people is about sharing what you know. Be willing to share and don't always expect money from that," she said. "Build relationships and credibility. It's a very grassroots kind of effort. They can't come into your store and meet you."
