Dewayne Uren and his son Cory traveled around as corporate tool dealers for years until one day they decided to hang up their tool belts and invest in their own tool store. Brands like Genius, GearWrench, Milwaukee, Makita and Ingersoll are found in-house.

Bulldog Tools and Equipment was born in 2011 and true to its name the owners are Georgia Bulldog fans.

"We were corporate tool dealers for years that decided to go independent," said owner Dewayne Uren. "It kind of stuck. We have over 42 years combined in the tool business. We sell primarily automotive tools and equipment."

He said Bulldog Tools aims to save people money and takes payments through in-house financing with zero percent interest.

"For automotive mechanics we have everything under the sun," said owner Cory Uren. "We carry diagnostic, hand tool storage and electronic tools."

Dewayne Uren said the mechanics dealing with tool trucks that run once a week can stop by Bulldog Tools in a centralized location any day of the week for the tools they need. He has sold tools in Chattanooga since 1987, when he moved back to his hometown from Flint, Mich., to work for Snap-On Tools. His son Cory started in tools 14 years ago.

"He pulled a tool truck in the driveway when I was 5 and I've been on a tool truck ever since," said Cory Uren, referring to his father Dewayne. "I was known as the tool man in school. I graduated from Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School."

The father/son duo hopes to open a second location in Chattanooga in the future. They reside in Ringgold.
