It's Barney's birthday, and the big purple dinosaur is throwing two parties Tuesday in Memorial Auditorium.

"Barney Live! Barney's Birthday Bash" is a new stage production featuring costumed characters playing the big purple dinosaur and his friends, BJ, Baby Bop and Riff. They're joined by a cast of three for a party that Barney sums up with his favorite word: super-dee-duper.

Kids can sing and dance while Barney enjoys all his favorite things for his birthday: music, cake, streamers and parades. There's sure to be a chorus of "I Love You" before the show is over.

There are more than two dozen upbeat sing-along tunes in this new interactive stage concert, according to information provided by Vee Corp. Kids will recognize "Mr. Knickerbocker," "Dino Dance," "Baby Bop Hop" and "Rock 'n Roll Star."

The show includes a lot of nursery rhymes that will be familiar to children, encouraging their participation as well. Between songs, Barney and his friends will share messages about sharing, caring and friendship.
