Thursday is the deadline for applications to be turned in for Art on Main, the third in a series of rotating outdoor sculpture exhibitions that places art along the sidewalks of the newly refurbished streetscapes on Main Street.
Public Art Chattanooga will select up to 13 sculptures to be sited along the sidewalks of East and West Main Streets. Each artist will receive a $5,000 stipend.
Works will be on view for 24 months starting in August. At the conclusion of the exhibition, a work or works will be purchased for inclusion in the city of Chattanooga's permanent collection.
The offer is open to all professional artists and artist teams over the age of 18 who currently reside in the Southeastern United States.
Applications must be delivered by mail, by hand or received electronically by 4 p.m. Thursday. An application can be downloaded at www.publicartchattanooga.com/about/callstoartists.htm.
