In-Town Gallery kicks off its holiday celebration today, Nov. 1, with "The Art of Gifting."
The month traditionally marks a "clean sweep" of the gallery, said spokeswoman Helen Burton.
"In November, the entire gallery is refreshed with all new work from more than 30 artists so that unique and never-before-seen art treasures are available for those special gifts," she said in a news release.
The exhibition also marks the introduction of two new members: Laura P. Brock, who crafts sterling and fine silver jewelry; and Maddin J. Corey, who works in various mediums but will be presenting still lifes and portraits in oil on canvas at In-Town.
A festive First Friday reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Nov. 2 offers an opportunity to meet the artists and peruse the works.
Founded in 1974, In-Town Gallery is one of the oldest cooperative galleries in the nation. It is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday (until 8 p.m. on most first Fridays), 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
