If you don't have tickets to Spectrum, you can mark that gala off your to-do list. The Nov. 10 fundraiser for the Hunter Museum of American Art is sold out.

But that doesn't mean you have to miss out on the art. The Spectrum exhibition will be open for viewing during regular hours from Saturday, Nov. 3, to Saturday, Nov. 10.

Plus, three preview events will give you a chance to mingle with people in the know about the art that will be available. And if you see something you like, sealed bids for both the live and silent auctions will be accepted.

According to spokeswoman Katrina Craven, the silent auction offers 60 works, the live auction 37. The art represents a variety of styles, prices and media from galleries across the Unites States. To select works for the auctions, the selection committee visited galleries from Nashville to New Orleans, from Atlanta to Chattanooga, among other cities.

"It's a great way for people to see art work being produced in different parts of the country," Craven said.

Spectrum has been held since 1973 to give seasoned buyers and novice collectors a chance to find "excellent buys on works of arts while helping to support the museum," she said.

The preliminary events start with a ...
