April at In-Town Gallery, 26 Frazier Ave., bursts into bloom with Helen Brooks' vibrantly colored floral paintings, landscapes and abstracts, right, and potter Sheila Fulghum's domestic utensils, such as the pitcher, below, and clay forms from nature. The title of the exhibit, "Serendipitous," describes their philosophy about their work. Visitors can meet the artists at an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 4. "Serendipitous" continues through Friday, April 25. Gallery hours are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday (until 8 p.m. on first Fridays), 1-5 p.m. Sundays.
