Christopher Smith has the title role in the Back Alley Productions presentation of William Shakespeare's "Hamlet," which opens this weekend at the Mars Theater in LaFayette, Ga., before beginning a traveling schedule to locations in Ringgold, Ga. (Aug. 12-13), downtown Chattanooga (Aug. 20) and East Ridge (Aug. 26-27).

This weekend's indoor presentations start at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5-6, at the Mars, 177 N. Chattanooga Ave.

Though the show is free, Back Alley is accepting tax-deductible donations at www.backalleyproductions.org to give toward current and future productions.

Smith recommends outdoor audience members to bring water, snacks and a blanket for grass.

Outdoor shows will be performed even if it rains, unless the weather is severe and dangerous.
