History Happy Hour at Museum Center at Five Points highlights hellbenders

The next History Happy Hour at the Museum Center at Five Points, 200 E. Inman St. in Cleveland, Tenn., will double as a science lesson. The topic is hellbender salamanders and groundbreaking efforts by the Chattanooga Zoo to establish a breeding program for these "near threatened" amphibians, which have never been successfully bred in captivity. Chattanooga Zoo and Lee University are partnering for field research to survey the wild population of hellbenders, the largest salamander species in the U.S. Set for 6 p.m. today, May 19, History Happy Hour is open to ages 21 and up, and Mash & Hops Craft Beers will supply the adult beverages. Admission is free for members, $10 for nonmembers ($16 for nonmember couples). The ticket includes an open wine and beer bar and entry into the exhibits. Questions?
