Dancers from Center for Creative Arts, Hamilton County's performing arts magnet school, are partnering with the new Cleveland Orchestra of Tennessee to present Symphony in Motion today and Friday, April 27-28, at CCA, 1301 Dallas Road.

The concert will be an evening of original choreography in modern, jazz and ballet presented by the school's Project Motion dancers and the Cleveland, Tenn., orchestra, which is under the direction of Sarah Pearson. Students from CCA's Vocal Music Department, directed by Neshawn Calloway, will be featured guests in the show. Dances have been choreographed by Amanda Clark, Jessica Laliberte Bowman and Laurel Zahrobsky.

Project Motion is the performing ensemble of CCA's Dance Department. Students are accepted by audition and perform in full-length concerts, lecture-demonstrations and in collaboration with other arts organizations.

Former CCA dancers have gone on to perform on Broadway, with Dance Theater of Harlem, Nashville Ballet II and Ailey II following graduation.

The CCA Dance Department is under the direction of Karen Wilson.
