Spanky Brown, who opened for Dave Chappelle at the Tivoli Theatre, will be joined by friends Andy Forrester and Rodney Alan Wiggins for seven shows at the Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., this weekend.

Versatility and style best describe Brown's stand-up, providing laughs that transcend age, gender, urban or mainstream. Currently a contributing writer for "The Tom Joyner Morning Show," Brown is heard in more than 100 radio markets and has also been featured on BET's "Comic View."

Thursday, Dec. 28, show time is 7:30 p.m., when tickets are $10. Tickets are $15 for shows on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 29-30, at either 7:30 or 9:45 p.m.

The Comedy Catch is offering two shows on New Year's Eve. Tickets for the early-bird show at 7:30 p.m. are $18.

Sunday's 10 p.m. party includes hats, horns, a split of champagne and the comedy show followed by DJ Raw playing dance music until morning. Tickets for this party show are $36 per person.

A ticket purchased for New Year's Eve is good later in the week of Jan. 4-7 for admission to Big Eddie Caylor's shows. Present it as a voucher.
