Two writers will visit Star Line Books, 1467 Market St., today and Friday, June 8-9, for book signings and readings.

* Today, June 8: Book signing and reading with Holly Tucker, 4-6 p.m., free.

Tucker will sign her new book, "City of Light, City of Poison."

It is the story of the first police chief of Paris, Nicolas de La Reynie, assigned by King Louis XIV to conquer the city's criminals. Doing this leads to the discovery of poisoners, witches and even renegade priests hired to perform dark rituals.

Readers who love true detective stories and historical fiction won't want to miss this.

Maum will sign her latest book, "Touch," about a New York City trend forecaster who finds herself wanting to overturn her own predictions, get away from technology and reclaim her heart.

Her acclaimed debut novel, "I Am Having So Much Fun Here Without You," was named a book of the month by Amazon, iTunes and Library Journal.
