(facebook.com/BRCT.GA)It's not Christmas without "White Christmas" - either the 1954 romantic comedy film or the song - and Blue Ridge Community Theater is bringing both to its audiences.
"White Christmas" opens at the Blue Ridge Community Theater on Friday, Nov. 24, for three weekends of performances through Sunday, Dec. 10. Based on the beloved film, the musical features 17 of Irving Berlin's classic songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake.
All your favorite songs from the movie are included: "Sisters," "Snow," "Heat Wave/Blue Skies" medley, "Count Your Blessings," "The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing" and the holiday classic, "White Christmas."
Norma Bean is directing this production about two World War II veterans, song-and-dance team Bob Wallace and Phil Davis, who run into the beautiful Haynes sisters, who are en route to their Christmas booking at a Vermont lodge.
The sisters convince the guys to join them. When the four arrive, they are surprised to find 1) no snow and 2) the lodge is owned by Bob and Phil's former Army commander, Maj. Gen. Tom Waverly.
