It's not too early to start Christmas shopping, and tonight's "SmArt Auction" is a great chance to pick up an original work of art for someone on your gift list.

Southern Lit Alliance is hosting SmArt Art Auction tonight, Sept. 21, at 6 p.m. at The Venue, 4119 Cummings Highway. It's planned to be a festive evening filled with live music and an auction of 41 pieces of artwork from some of this area's most talented artists. Each artist will submit a written piece describing what inspired their work.

There will be funky music by Moose Truck, food from SwissAm and libations from Riverside Wine & Spirits.

Proceeds from the evening benefit So Lit's high-impact community outreach programs such a Turn the Page, Writers in Classrooms in Hamilton County schools, Young Southern Student Writers' Awards and Manifest Voices.

Tickets for SmArt Auction are $75 a person. Anyone wishing to attend should call Southern Lit Alliance today to check on ticket availability because tickets will only be available at the door if there are any left unsold.
