Townsend Atelier will host an opening reception for "Paper" on Friday, March 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the gallery in the Arts Building, 301 E. 11th St.

"Paper" is an art exhibition and sale by the talented family of artists Daud Akhriev, Timur Akhriev and Melissa Hefferlin. The exhibit's name is derived from the fact all works in the show are done on paper.

"This is an incredibly talented family of artists and a rare exhibition of all three," says Peggy Townsend.

Townsend says the show will feature works in gouache, watercolor, oil, drawings, pastels, limited-edition etchings and linoleum prints signed and numbered by the artists. Some work will be framed, and some will be loose for custom framing after purchase. More than 50 works will be available. Prices will start at $40, ranging into works that are thousands of dollars.

"Paper" will remain on view through April 6. Townsend Atelier hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
