Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers creates the perfect haven for Shroomers this summer with special entrées, drinks and venues for all occasions.
"Mellow is the perfect restaurant for any and everyone," says Samantha Jones, who owns the local locations with her husband Jason. "We have great salads and refreshing wine for the people who want to look great by the pool. We have ice cold beer, fresh cocktails and large pizzas that can be enjoyed with friends on our outdoor patios, and we have extra bar-stools for the individual who wants to come and make new friends."
During hot weather, guests can choose light and refreshing recipes like the Capri salad made with fresh mozzarella, basil and tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Mellow Mushroom has been experimenting with a "Mellowfied" Margherita pizza, a cheese pizza with a light, refreshing combination of fresh tomatoes, mozzarella and a basil chiffonode.
"This summer we have new cocktails created by our mixologists," Jones says. "From our white sangria, jalapeño-infused tequila margaritas and the Devil's Sour, these libations are guaranteed to cool you down on hot summer days and nights while enjoying the breeze on our patio."
A new cocktail to the Waterside location was created by Mellow bartender Heidi Tinkelburg, called "That's Not My Name." The name was inspired after Heidi's nickname "Tink," which reminds her co-workers of the band the Ting Tings. "That's Not My Name" is made with Hendricks gin infused with strawberries, basil, mint, sour mix, soda and a splash of orange juice. Jones says the new drink is "like sunshine in a glass."
Guests can enjoy specials on adult beverages with mystery craft beer buckets for $12 on Tuesdays, when guests can get their server to pick a brew especially for them. During July, Mellow Mushroom is passing out a slap coozie valued at $5, part of Mellow's retail collection, with each bucket. At both locations, Thursday is always $1 wine night and every Wednesday is Perfect 10 with $10 pitchers and several $10 perfectly paired complementary food combinations.
Mellow is the perfect place for parents to dine with children thanks to a new kid's menu and the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines where guests can experiment and create hundreds of different soda flavors. The new kid's menu has favorites like gluten- free chicken fingers and macaroni and cheese. Also, the event space at Mellow downtown and outdoor patio at Mellow Waterside are perfect venues for hosting birthday parties.
Adults and kids can't get enough of the creative atmosphere at Mellow Waterside, which is themed around the classic childhood novel "Alice in Wonderland." Mellow Mushroom Waterside features many creative and unique touches that celebrate the long, successful history of Mellow Mushroom.
