Aris' Harbor Light Restaurant and Lounge welcomes guests to enjoy beautiful scenery and delicious recipes in one stop.

"I've been doing a lot of fixing up of the place; we've got new fans for the outside, new tables and chairs," says owner Aris Sklavenitis. "We're trying to get ready for summer. I see more people coming out this year already."

The outside seating is plentiful and offers plenty of shade for guests as they dine with a spectacular view of the water and surrounding nature. Anyone out on the water wanting to enjoy some shade, a few drinks and a meal can pull their boat right up to the restaurant's dock to park.

"We are a family restaurant and people come in from Cleveland and even South Pittsburg because we have good food and big portions," Sklavenitis says. "We are famous for our Buffalo shrimp and our fried shrimp. We are also famous for our homemade lasagna, our big salads and the menu that has plenty of things to choose from."

The restaurant features large portions and recipes that are made with fresh ingredients, including house-made dressing. Sklavenitis says he can often be found in the kitchen hand-cutting steaks, making soups from scratch and preparing the fresh - never frozen - salmon or Gulf white jumbo shrimp for recipes.

He recently revived some old menu favorites, bringing back the restaurant's large nacho platter, popular spinach dip appetizer and succulent prime rib.

The prime rib, only available Friday-Sunday, is a special 14-ounce juicy cut that has diners wanting more. Another delicious addition to the menu is a pork tenderloin entrée with two pieces of pork marinated in olive oil and garlic and grilled to perfection. Aris' continues to feature its popular $19.95 dinner for two with more than 10 different items to choose from, including steak, fish and a pasta dish.

"We always listen to our customers and so we brought back what they wanted," Sklavenitis says. "We still have some Greek plates - gyro plate, Greek chicken, the Greek pork tenderloin. The pastitsio is here as a special sometimes. We serve food until midnight on the weekends, so you can spend the day playing and decide to come in late and get something to eat."

While enjoying their favorite Greek or American- style recipes, guests can also be entertained with blues-style music performed during the inhouse Piano Bar every Tuesday through Saturday night for dinner from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The piano is set up near the karaoke stage where every Friday and Saturday night guests can follow up the pianist's performance with their own karaoke stylings beginning at 8 p.m. There will also be live performances this summer every Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. on the patio.

Aris' now has a full bar with wine, beer and cocktails to choose from. Happy hour is served from 3-7 p.m. and includes $1.50 draft beers, $2.50 bottle beers and two-for-one house liquor.
