Maria Vives of Sonrisa Farms will teach a class on Sourdough Baking Basics from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26, at Crabtree Farms, 1000 E. 30th St.
Participants will take home a loaf of whole-wheat sourdough bread, bread dough, pizza dough, a jar of sourdough starter (plus instructions for maintaining it) and several recipes.
Cost is $50 (discounts for members of the same household), and all ingredients are provided.
Sonrisa is a family-operated farm in Colquitt, Ga., that sells its products at several Chattanooga-area farmers markets and supplies Lupi's Pizza Pies and Niedlov's Breadworks, among others.
