Chattanooga Now Beach Blanket Movie Night tonight in Hixson

Stars: Voices of Jay Baruchel, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera and Jonah Hill.

Plot: A hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.

Surf, sand and celluloid will combine for a relaxing evening for tonight's Beach Blanket Movie Night.

The surf and sand are the freshwater variety found at Chester Frost Park, 2318 N. Gold Point Circle in Hixson. The celluloid images remain a secret until the opening credits roll at sunset (around 8:45 p.m.).

Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department is presenting this seventh annual event, which is designed as a way to kick off the Memorial Day weekend.

The three-story screen may be viewed from the beach or from boats. Those watching from the beach should bring lawn chairs or blankets. Sound will be broadcast in FM transmission.

Admission is free. Family activities will be held before the movie. Concessions will be available for purchase.
