'My Little Pony Equestria Girls' in limited run (June 16, 22-23; July 13-14)

Five area Carmike theaters will saddle up for a new full-length feature film from the My Little Pony franchise.

"My Little Pony Equestria Girls" will open Sunday, June 16, and repeat on four more days: Saturdays and Sundays, June 22-23 and July 13-14. It will be shown in downtown Chattanooga at the Majestic 12; in Hixson at Northgate 14; in Fort Oglethorpe at Battlefield 10; in Cleveland, Tenn., at Bradley Square 12; and in Dalton, Ga., at Carmike 12.

The movie introduces a new dimension into the world of My Little Pony. When a crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, Twilight Sparkle pursues the thief into an alternate world, where she transforms into a teenage girl who must survive her biggest challenge yet: high school. With help from her new friends who remind her of Ponyville's Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy, she embarks upon a quest to find the crown and change the destiny of these two parallel worlds.

The film, which is not rated, runs 1 hour and 12 minutes.
