"Citizen Koch," an exposé on the state of democracy in America, will be screened later this month, provided enough tickets are sold in advance.
Move To Amend Chattanooga is promoting ticket sales for the film from Academy Award-nominated directors Carl Deal and Tia Lessin ("Trouble the Water"; co-producers of "Fahrenheit 9/11" & "Bowling for Columbine"). For "Citizen Koch," they follow the money behind the rise of the Tea Party and investigate the impact of unlimited, anonymous spending by corporations and billionaires on the electoral process. The film features stories of lifelong Republicans whose loyalty is tested when their families become collateral damage in the GOP fight against organized labor.
The screening of "Citizen Koch" is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the East Ridge 18, 5080 South Terrace. A Q&A will follow.
