Cine-Rama Palace Picture House opens to the public on Friday, April 28, establishing itself as Chattanooga's only independent cinema.

The arthouse is located inside the Tomorrow building, 818 Georgia Ave., Suite 118. It is the official headquarters of the Chattanooga Film Festival and genre-loving film club Mise En Scenesters.

"Colossal," directed by Nacho Vigalondo, is the film chosen for the theater's grand opening. In the movie, Anne Hathaway plays Gloria, an out-of-work party girl who, after getting kicked out of her apartment by her boyfriend, is forced to leave her life in New York and move back to her hometown.

When news reports surface that a giant creature is destroying Seoul, South Korea, Gloria begins to realize she is somehow connected to that phenomenon. As events spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
