Country rapper Colt Ford will kick off the Jukebox Junction Summer Concert Series at Lake Winnepesaukah Amusement Park with two shows Sunday.
Ford grew up listening to country, R&B and hip-hop. The artists he's worked with span that musical spectrum: John Michael Montgomery, Montgomery Gentry, Cledus T. Judd, Bone Crusher, Jermaine Dupri, Adrian Young (NoDoubt) and Jeremy Popoff (Lit), among others.
He earned a 2011 Academy of Country Music Awards nomination for his collaboration with Jamey Johnson on the single "Cold Beer."
Though often delivered with a rapper's edge, Ford's songs pay tribute to the people, pastimes and attitudes that define the country lifestyle. "I talk about everyday real country life, and I believe in real country values: God, family, friends and hard work," he says in his press material. "And if that ain't country, I don't know what is."
His latest single is "Country Thang" from "Every Chance I Get."
