Burnette in organ recital Sunday

Chatsworth, Ga., resident Adam Burnette, a conductor, pianist and organist with international credits, will present a piano and organ recital in the sanctuary of Calhoun First Methodist Church, 205 E. Line St. in Calhoun, Ga., at 3 p.m. Sunday. The free program will consist of works by Bach, Widor, Langlais and arrangements by Burnette.

Burnette's resume includes the following highlights:

2008 - Made his symphonic conducting debut with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center and international conducting debut in opera performances at the Banff Festival in Alberta, Canada.

2009 - Made his European concert debut at Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland, playing a chamber music concert and art song recitals.

2010 - On return visit to Ireland, made his European conducting debut with the Wexford Festival Orchestra and led a production of the one-act opera "Winners."

2011 - Served on the music staff at Opera Theatre of St. Louis and played concerts with Sylvia McNair across the Midwest this past summer. This fall he returns to Wexford Festival Opera as cover conductor for "Maria" and will lead performances of two chamber operas, chamber concerts and a cabaret. Other upcoming conducting engagements include a symphony orchestra concert, a production of "Sweeney Todd" and a concerto competition winners concert in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
