Chattanooga Tuba Euphonium Quartet performs Monday

The next show in the Southside Casual Classics series will feature the Chattanooga Tuba Euphonium Quartet. The ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. Monday at The Camp House, 1427 Williams St.

Founded in 2010, the quartet consists of euphonium players Jacqueline Miller and Shelby Walker and tuba players Angelo Kortyka and Kenyon Wilson. The musicians recently finished recording an EP featuring compositions by Wilson. The plan is to have it ready for digital distribution before the end of the summer.

At Monday's performance, they will feature arrangements and original works for tuba/euphonium quartet by Wilson, as well as Michael Forbes, Gabriel Faure and others.

Southside Casual Classics concerts are held the second Monday of the month. Still to come this summer is Brassworks, an outreach of the Jericho Brass Band, on Aug. 13.

The concerts are designed to be informal but informative, and performers discuss the pieces and composers.

Admission is free, although a freewill donation is received.
