'Voice' auditions in Memphis this weekend

Auditions for NBC's reality show "The Voice" will be held Saturday and Sunday at the Cook Convention Center, 225 N. Main St., in Memphis.

According to an NBC representative, producers are looking for all musical styles.

If selected, vocalists will be mentored by music industry professionals, including Brainerd High graduate Romeo Johnson, and will compete weekly.

The television audience ultimately decides who is worthy of the grand prize.

The hit show is known for its four celebrity coaches: Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Singers should prepare three current recognizable songs, be willing to share personal stories and explain why they are a star in the making.

Applicants must be at least 15 years old, a legal U.S. resident and meet other eligibility requirements.
