ShamRock, a concert featuring teen and young adult acts, will take place tonight in LaFayette, Ga.
Five musical groups have been signed to perform, including last year's ShamRock winner, solo artist Corey Rose, and runner-up, Ambience, an alternative group from Trion, Ga.
New to the venue are No Offense, a LaFayette-based punk-alternative group; ThisGloriousScene, a Christian acoustic solo artist; and Dr. Manhattan, a group from Chickamauga, Ga.
Concertgoers can vote for their favorite band during the event at $1 a vote. All proceeds will go toward the purchase of new books for the young adult department at the LaFayette-Walker County Public Library, which is hosting the show for the third year. The winning group will receive a $50 gift certificate from Music on the Square, the event sponsor.
ShamRock will take place at the temporary library site, 1105 N. Main St. in LaFayette. Show time is 8 p.m. Admission is free.
