Chattanooga Now Come to the (other) Cabaret

September 21st, 2012 by Staff Report in Chattnow Music

When Choral Arts of Chattanooga members began planning a new fundraiser, they had no idea the name of their celebration would have a little competition this month.

So when the lights go down on "Cabaret," the musical ending its run this weekend at Chattanooga Theatre Centre, Choral Arts will fill the entertainment void with a Cabaret & Silent Auction on Thursday.

The Choral Arts gala will feature a spread of hors d'oeuvres catered by Events With Taste, jazz music by the David Walters Trio and additional entertainment by cabaret singers performing selections from Tin Pan Alley to Broadway.

Among the items up for bids in the auction are a portrait sitting, Florida resort vacation, dental bleaching treatment and an aerial tour of Chattanooga.

The fun starts at 7 p.m. Thursday at Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 E. M.L. King Blvd. Tickets are $50 per individual, $85 per pair.
