Jericho Brass Band performs for Advent service - Dec. 8-11

The 32nd annual Lutheran Advent Choral Festival, "The Many Moods of Christmas," will be presented Sunday, Dec. 8, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 822 Belvoir Ave., East Ridge. The three-part Music in Advent series, which began Dec. 4 with the Chattanooga Girls Choir, concludes with a performance by the Jericho Brass, above, directed by Frank Hale, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Sunday's choral festival, which starts at 3 p.m., will feature 55 choir members from Good Shepherd, Cross of Christ, Faith and First Lutheran churches, accompanied by 28 members of the Chattanooga Symphony and Tri-State Musicians Union, plus organ. Described by director Sandy Morris as a "delightful collection of Christmas carols," the program is a 50-minute work in four suites arranged by Robert Shaw and Robert Russell Bennett.
