Bluegrass/Americana band Nu-Blu will take the stage at the Dalton, Ga., Freight Depot on Saturday night, March 30, in the third concert of the Woodsongs Coffeehouse series.

Nu-Blu was founded by husband and wife Carolyn and Daniel Routh. Carolyn, on bass, provides lead vocals; he plays guitar and adds his songwriting skill and vocals to the group. Rounding out the band are Levi Austin, banjo and vocals, and Austin Koener, mandolin.

Nu-Blu released its debut album, "Nights," in 2010. It spent more than five weeks on the Americana Music Association's Top 40 chart. The musicians won 2010 Country Band of the Year at the Carolina Music Awards for their work.

In 2011, Nu-Blu was nominated a second time by the Carolina Music Awards as Bluegrass/Americana/Country Band of the Year.

All proceeds from the Woodsongs series benefit construction of the Providence Ministries Men's Shelter. The 60-bed men's shelter is being built in Dalton and needs an estimated $75,000-$100,000 for completion.
