The award-winning Marksmen Quartet will entertain Friday, May 10, at the Ringgold Depot. The lineup also will feature Johnnie Sue & Friends and Hunter Moreland.

Randall Franks will emcee the show, which starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Marksmen Quartet was nominated in 2013 as Contemporary Bluegrass Gospel Group of the Year by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America. The group has won the award four times.

Their latest CD, "This Is My Crowd," is a diverse collection of songs designed to reach as many people with the gospel message through a mix of bluegrass gospel, country inspirational, old-time Southern gospel, a touch of convention singing and even some blues, according to band member Mark Wheeler.

They also will share material from their Dove-nominated CDs "God's Masterpiece" and "Blue Ridge Mountain Memories."

Their hits include "He Is I Am," "Meet Me in Heaven," "Potter's Wheel," "Preach the Cross" and "Grandpa Was a Farmer."

Johnnie Sue, who appeared on the last two seasons of "The Shotgun Red Variety Show" on RFD-TV, has two CDs available, "Johnnie Sue Sings Country" and "Johnnie Sue Sings Gospel."

Hunter Moreland, a senior at Heritage High School, will perform on bagpipes. He is a Catoosa County Pearl and Floyd Franks Scholarship designee.

The show is a fundraiser for the scholarship fund, which helps young musicians achieve higher education.

Suggested ticket donation is $5, free for children 5 and younger. Tickets are available in advance at SonShine Christian Books, 1841 Battlefield Parkway, in Fort Oglethorpe.
