Of all the artists to cross the Jukebox Junction Stage at Lake Winnepesaukah each summer, two have proven to be the crowd's favorites: Colt Ford and Confederate Railroad, according to Talley Green, Lake Winnie spokeswoman.

So they are the two acts chosen to perform this summer's concerts at the Rossville amusement park.

Ford will bring his country/rap hybrid -- dubbed hick-hop -- to Lake Winnie on Sunday, May 19, for two shows. Confederate Railroad will perform Sept. 22.

"This will be the fourth time Colt Ford has performed here," says Green. "He just writes and sings about everyday people and everyday circumstances, particularly in the Southeast. I think that has a huge appeal."

Ford was a professional golfer until his interest swung to music. He released his debut CD in 2008, "Ride Through the Country." Ford co-wrote and recorded "Dirt Road Anthem" for that CD, but it became a Top 10 hit two years later for Jason Aldean off his "My Kinda Party" album.

Ford's 2012 CD, "Declaration of Independence," on his own Average Joe's Entertainment label, became his first No. 1 country album. The Athens, Ga., native wrote or co-wrote 14 of its 15 tracks. His duet with Jake Owen, "Back," off that album was Ford's highest-charting single to date at No. 40.
