Five young women considered exceptional musical talents will perform Friday, April 11, in Athens, Tenn., when the House Blend Concert Series returns to The Arts Center.

The "Girls of Country" show will feature regional singers and songwriters who've been influenced by both country and bluegrass music, singing original tunes and popular favorites. They'll perform individually in the Sue E. Trotter Theatre with The Art Center's house band.

They are:

¦ Courtney Holder, a student at Center for Creative Arts in Chattanooga.

¦ Reily Kennedy, a student at Walker Valley High School in Cleveland, Tenn.

¦ Lindsey Kimball, of the local band September Song from Athens.

¦ Kinslee Melhorn, a senior cheerleader at Meigs County High School.

¦ Savannah Roberts, of the award-winning duo Rose Drive of Athens.

The House Blend Concert Series gives standouts local talents a chance to perform in a professional setting and the audience an intimate concert. The series includes at least four concerts annually, two of which are open mikes, open to performers to sign up. The next event in the House Blend Concert Series is a Singer Songwriter Night on Friday, May 9, featuring Hendree Harrison, Andrew Kimball and Wayne Scarbrough in a writers-in-the-round coffeehouse-style performance.

Proceeds from the House Blend Concert Series benefit the Athens Area Council for the Arts' outreach programming. Tickets are available at the door.
