The Lee University Chamber Strings will present its annual spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 21, in the Dixon Center on the Cleveland, Tenn., campus.

The concert will highlight familiar musical pieces from Broadway, opera, country and other genres.

Soloists for the evening will include Mia Campbell, who will perform a flute solo of "Oblivion" by Astor Piazzolla; Kristiana McCombs, who will perform Cello Concerto by Joseph Haydn; and Tianyi Ma, performing a piano solo of "Somewhere in Time," the movie soundtrack written by John Barry.

The concert also will feature Hanchi Shi, an 11-year-old violinist from Wuhan, China, who will showcase "Winter" by Vivaldi.

"Guests are in for an evening of wonderful music," says Xiaoqing Yu, director of Chamber Strings and associate professor of music at Lee. "Hanchi Shi, this sensational little girl from China, will bring much inspiration to all who attend."

The Chamber Strings ensemble is composed of the university's finest violinists, violists, cellists and bassists.

Admission is free. A reception will follow.
