Jenny and Tyler Somers, who make up the pop/folk duo Jenny & Tyler, will bring their For Freedom Tour, meant to raise awareness of human trafficking, to The Salvation Army's ReCreate Cafe on Saturday, March 29. Also performing will be Levi Weaver and Vanita Joines.

The tour is in support of the latest project from Jenny & Tyler, "For Freedom - A Covers EP," which consists of songs from U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Simon & Garfunkel, Coldplay, The Cranberries, Postal Service and Louis Armstrong. The project supports the work of International Justice Mission, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending human trafficking throughout the world.

The evening also will highlight local human-trafficking awareness efforts by Second Life of Chattanooga and the Chattanooga Coalition Against Human Trafficking, of which The Salvation Army of Chattanooga is a member. The stop at ReCreate Café is part of a 30-city tour across the U.S.

On their website, the husband-and-wife duo say the "Covers EP" consummates a long-held desire, after five original albums, "to put our own spin on some of our favorite songs from our childhood, songs that have influenced the way we think about music today."

The concert also will include original songs by Jenny & Tyler.

Critics have likened their blend of driving, percussive folk-pop to that of Mumford & Sons and Nickel Creek, with echoes of male-female duos such as She & Him and The Civil Wars.
