Grammy-winning guitarist Jason Vieaux and acclaimed violinist Tessa Lark will be the next performers in the chamber music series String Theory.

Vieaux, cited by Gramophone as "among the elite of today's classical guitarists," won a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Classical Instrumental Solo for his most recent solo album, "Play." In June 2014, NPR named "Zapateado" from the album as one of its 50 Favorite Songs of 2014 (So Far) and described Vieaux as "perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation."

Known for his ability to smoothly intertwine soulful and classical genres, he has performed as a soloist with almost 100 orchestras throughout the United States.

His latest album, "Infusion," released last month, includes jazz guitarist Pat Metheny's "Antonia," which will be part of Tuesday's program, along with works by Piazzola, Tárrega, Jobím, Bustamante, deFalla and Kreisler.

Lark, winner of the prestigious Naumburg International Violin Award, is considered one of the most captivating artistic voices of her time. She has been consistently praised by critics and audiences alike for her astounding range of sounds, technical agility and musical elegance.

Keeping in touch with her Kentucky roots, Lark also applies her violin to bluegrass and Appalachian music. She collaborates frequently with Mark O'Connor, known for his fusion of bluegrass, jazz, country and classical music.

Now in its eighth season, String Theory is presented by Lee University and the Hunter Museum of American Art. Its founder and artistic director is pianist Gloria Chien.
