Thousands of bands entered the competition at the first of this year to open for Bon Jovi in Atlanta's Philips Arena in February.

But the one that won was Maradeen, an American rock band from Nashville.

Maradeen has opened for acts such as The Revivalists, Moon Taxi, Perpetual Groove and Colonel Bruce Hampton.

On Saturday night, July 29, Maradeen will play Clyde's on Main, 122 W. Main St., beginning at 10 p.m.

There's a $5 cover charge.
