A patriotic celebration featuring gospel music's iconic female vocalist, Sandi Patty, is set for Sunday night, June 25, at Abba's House in Hixson.

Patty will be backed by an orchestra and mass choir consisting of the worship choirs from Abba's House, Morris Hill Baptist and Bayside Baptist churches. In total, more than 250 singers will be onstage with the soprano, whose soaring vocals have earned her the nickname "The Voice."

"Celebrate Faith, Family & Freedom with Sandi Patty" will feature patriotic anthems, American songbook classics and a collection of some of Patty's most-requested sacred songs. This performance marks her first concert appearance since her farewell tour in 2016.

"I love the wonderful people of Chattanooga," the singer says in a news release. "We brought the farewell tour to Chattanooga, and it was such a special night. Now that the touring days are behind me, to have an opportunity to spend some time with my friends in Chattanooga as we celebrate faith, family and freedom is very special to me."

Her 30-year career is rooted in the gospel music industry, winning the Dove Award 11 consecutive years (1982-1992) for Female Vocalist of the Year. She also has won five Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and been inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Patty is one of the most sought-after patriotic performers of this generation. She gained national attention in 1986 during the rededication of the Statue of Liberty with her rendition of "The Star-Spangled Banner." Her recordings of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America" have afforded her the opportunity to perform for five presidents and frequently for nationally televised political and sporting events.

"I love America," states Patty. "I appreciate the men and women who fought to protect the freedom we hold so dear. I am excited for this opportunity to celebrate our country and give thanks to God for his many blessings."
