Music has been in Jess Goggans' family for generations. Her father, who played keys on her debut record "Reality," made his mark in the 1970s touring with Sam and Dave.

Raised in Fort Payne, Ala., and owning the stage since age 5, the singer-songwriter puts her entire soul into her music and every ounce of her heart into each performance, as patrons of Clyde's On Main will see when the Jess Goggans Band plays there Saturday, June 24.

Recognized for her sultry Southern grit, soulful melodies and high-energy stage presence, reviewers have said that you can literally feel her voice moving through you.

She has performed around Florabama and the Deep South and shared the stage with Bernie Worrell of Parliament-Funkadelic and the Talking Heads, Randy Owens of Alabama, Caroline Aiken, Jocelyn Arndt, Donna Hopkins, Copious Jones, Col. Bruce Hampton and Marcus King Band.

Her band includes Arrie Bozeman, mandolin, vocals, guitar; Rob Roth, lead guitar; Jairaj Swann, bass; and Aaron Kaufman, drums.

On Friday, June 23, the Nashville funk/rock band Deep Fried 5 will perform at Clyde's. The band includes Justin Martin, keys; Alex Dilley, bass; David Whitlow, drums; Andrew Muller, guitar; and Eric Koslosky, guitar.
