Longtime Jethro Tull guitarist Martin Barre rocks Revelry Room

Martin Barre, guitarist for Jethro Tull for 43 years, will perform with his band on Wednesday, March 22, at The Revelry Room, 41 Station St. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8.

Barre is touring the U.S. in support of his new album, "Back to Steel," released on 71st Street Music. His band's original music harkens back to the earthy blues-rock of Jethro Tull's earliest days and his current live set mixes some early Tull classics in with his own original heavy blues-rock.

Barre earned a Grammy Award in 1988 for his work on the album, "Crest of a Knave." In addition to numerous Jethro Tull albums, he has worked with Paul McCartney, Phil Collins, Gary Moore, Jo Bonamassa and Chris Thompson. He has shared a stage with legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin.
