Gospel Music Showcase and Awards features 20 acts

Twenty Christian music acts will perform in the 10th annual Gospel Music Showcase and Awards on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Ringgold High School, 29 Tiger Trail in Ringgold, Ga.

The event, presented by Shelia Reed of Gospel Music Express Showcase, highlights local, regional and national gospel artists and rewards them for their commitment to bring gospel music to the public and their local churches.

Awards will be given to the best in these categories: Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Duo, Favorite Trio, Favorite Youth Vocalist, Favorite Quartet, Favorite Upcoming Artist, Favorite Musician and Favorite Group.

photo Gary Winningham, from Pigeon Forge, Tenn., has been a gospel singer for nearly 30 years, performing solo and with groups.

Also, Living Legend, Favorite Comedian, Favorite Promoter, Favorite Producer, Favorite Radio Promoter, Favorite Internet Radio Personality, Favorite Song, Favorite Songwriter, Favorite Album, Favorite Band, Favorite Video and Horizon Artist.

The showcase will begin at 1 p.m., with each artist performing 15 minutes. Featured singers will be Redemption Quartet, The Blankenships, Gary Cureton, SingAkadamie Girls, Jim Dautry, Debby Faye East, Craig Kirk Tyndall, Dana Russell, The Yarbroughs, Jim Bloomfield, Jonathan Bonds, Susie Agee, Chris Wells, Jayna Jennings, Renee Barton, The Mays Family, 3 Purple Crosses, Gary Winningham, Renay Jarvis Lee and Shelia Reed.

The awards show will begin at 7 p.m. and feature performances by Redemption Quartet, The Blankenships, SingAkadamie Girls, Gary Cureton and Gary Winningham. It is expected to wrap up about 10 p.m.
