Touring in support of its May album release, "Potions and Poisons," Colorado-based Head for the Hills will make a stop at Revelry Room on Wednesday night, Oct. 11.

Adam Kinghorn, Joe Lessard, Matt Loewen and Sam Parks take a look at the darker side of love, lust and life on their album - an examination of man's affinity for and aversion to the things that make us fragile but human.

In the great tradition of bluegrass, "Potions and Poisons" delivers some bitter pills, but the 10 original songs are more than a survey of the human condition. The album is reflective, buoyant music that is restorative and full of vibrancy.

Head for the Hills has been named Best Bluegrass Band in Colorado four times. The band has played Telluride Bluegrass Festival, South by Southwest, High Sierra Music Festival, RockyGrass, DelFest, String Summit, Blue Ox Music Festival, FloydFest and more.

The band has been featured on NPR Ideastream and eTown, and co-released beers with Odell Brewing Co. and Sanitas Brewing.
