A bluegrass matinee is set for Sunday, Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. at Barking Legs Theater, 1307 Dodds Ave., when Forever Bluegrass presents David Parmley and the Cardinal Tradition.

Parmley has spent 40 years playing bluegrass music. The Bluegrass Cardinals were formed in 1974 by his dad, Don Parmley, and he was the 15-year-old whiz kid in the band. After leaving the Cardinals to dad in 1992, Parmley was a founding member of Continental Divide. He and his dad recorded an acclaimed album with Del, Ronnie and Rob McCoury, called "Families of Tradition."

The Cardinal Tradition formed in 2015 as a return to the sounds that made the original band one of the top bluegrass bands in the nation for two decades.

Tickets for Sunday's performance are $15 apiece, $25 for two. For more information: 423-624-5347.
