Hymn FestivalThe Reformation anniversary will also be celebrated Sunday, Oct. 29, with a hymn festival at First Lutheran Church, 2800 McCallie Ave. The program begins at 6 p.m. with reception following. For more information: 423-629-5990.

Even if the names of Keith and Kristyn Getty don't immediately ring a bell of recognition, their worship song "In Christ Alone" will. It's been covered by artists from Newsboys and Avalon to Owl City's Adam Young.

The Gettys are stopping in Chattanooga Saturday night as part of their current tour, Facing A Task Unfinished, to participate in a concert at Memorial Auditorium marking the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation.

The couple will be backed by a mass choir of about 175 singers from six churches and Covenant College. The mass choir will be directed by Kelly Stultz of First Presbyterian Church.

The Gettys have been credited with "reinventing the traditional hymn form" to create a catalogue of songs filled with theology that crosses genres of traditional, classical, folk and contemporary composition. In addition to "In Christ Alone," their hymns include "The Power of the Cross" and "O Church Arise."

According to concert organizers, the program will include 17 hymns, three of which the Gettys will present and the remainder sung by the Gettys, mass choir and audience.
