String Theory, the series that brings in world-class musicians for chamber concerts to Hunter Museum of American Art, 10 Bluff View, kicks off its ninth season at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The opening performance features clarinetist David Shifrin, violist Paul Neubauer and pianist Gloria Chien, the series' founder.

Selections include Mozart's "Kegelstatt."

This is one of three performances that will be preceded at 6 p.m. by Musical Dialogues, a conversation with the artists.

Others will feature Art Connections, a guided tour through the galleries.

Co-sponsored by Lee University, the season features six chamber music concerts through May.

Individual tickets are $35 for Hunter members, $45 for nonmembers, $10 for students with ID.
