Scenic City Chorus presents 'Radio Daze'

Go behind the scenes for a day at a radio station when the Scenic City Chorus presents "Radio Daze" on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 4 p.m. in Notre Dame High School, 2701 Vermont Ave.

At the fictional WCSS Talk Radio station, the sound effects man is down with the flu, the last minute stand-in for the talk therapy show is an airhead and soap opera stars are feuding. How will the station manager cope?

With some uplifting music therapy sung by the award-winning chorus, and a "Martini," the quartet that won the 2012 Sweet Adelines International Championship Quartet. Martini will be guests of the local chorus for this show.

Scenic City Chorus is the local affiliate of Sweet Adelines International since 1962. Over its 55 years, Sweet Adelines have entertained audiences with a cappella, four-part harmony covering a variety of genres from pop to patriotic.

The chorus is directed by Jennifer Cooke, a member of the International Board of Sweet Adelines Inc. and 2017 Coach of the Year for Region 4. The women meet each Monday night at Spring Creek Baptist Church gymnasium, 1312 Spring Creek Road, for rehearsals.

Tickets for "Radio Daze" are $20 adults, $15 ages 65 and older or 12 and younger.

Following the show, an afterglow dinner will be held in the school cafeteria. Dinner tickets are $15 adults, $10 senior adults and children. Today is the deadline to purchase Afterglow tickets.
