Chattanooga Symphony & Opera presents the season's final Luken Holdings Pops Series concert, "Bob's Favorites," on Saturday, April 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Tivoli Theatre, 709 Broad St.

The concert marks Bob Bernhardt's 25th anniversary with the CSO. Bernhardt is music director emeritus and principal pops conductor of the CSO.

The concert is made up of Bernhardt's favorite pieces from show tunes, classical music, opera and movie soundtracks. The selections reflect a mix of classical and modern composers: Gershwin, Bizet, Mozart, Andrew Lloyd Webber and John Williams.

"I am so delighted and proud to be able to celebrate my 25th anniversary with the CSO onstage at the Tivoli Theatre with my friends and colleagues in our wonderful orchestra," says Bernhardt.

"I've planned a concert of music I love with soloists I care for and admire. We'll be playing music from the genres of opera, symphony, symphony with chorus, concerto, Broadway and film."

Bernhardt says piano virtuoso Michael Chertock will be featured on the program as will Shannon Kessler Dooley, who was Madame Butterfly in last season's opera, along with members of the CSO chorus.

"We also have a surprise or two in store," he teases. "I'm so looking forward to this concert, am so grateful to everyone who has made it possible and I'm filled with gratitude for my lucky and gratifying tenure with the CSO."

A post-concert reception honoring Bernhardt will be held in the Tivoli Center. A $25 donation to the Bernhardt Guest Artist Fund will allow two guests into the dessert-and-champagne reception. Donations can be made on the CSO website.

Concert tickets range from $21 to $85, with $15 tickets for students and music educators.
