Songbirds Guitar Museum celebrates the reopening of its new addition in what was formerly Revelry Room on Wednesday, Feb. 28, with a show by the Tim Reynolds Trio, aka TR3.

Reynolds, guitarist with the Dave Matthews Band, founded TR3 about 30 years ago. The trio toured during the 1980s and '90s, becoming known for its fusion of funk, rock and jazz. It was during that time that Reynolds met and joined Matthews.

Reynolds, a two-time Grammy nominee, moved to New Mexico and pursued a solo career before relocating to North Carolina's Outer Banks in 2007. After meeting bass player Mick Vaughn and drummer Dan Martier, Reynolds resurrected TR3.

Electric, funky and edgy, TR3's show is a mix of updated Reynolds classics to covers of everything from James Brown to Led Zeppelin along with TR3's catalog of new material.

There are three shows this weekend in the upstairs museum space.

» Saturday, Feb. 24: Guitar shredder John 5 - who has played with Marilyn Manson, Rob Halford, David Lee Roth and Rob Zombie - takes the Songbirds stage. Hero Jr. opens for him.

» Friday, Feb. 23: To celebrate the 54th anniversary of The Beatles' first performance on "The Ed Sullivan Show," Abbey Road Live plays Beatles music all night. Abbey Road Live is one of the top touring Beatles tribute bands in the nation and they will perform playing some of the makes of guitars made famous by the Fab Four.

» Thursday, Feb. 22: A mandolin child prodigy, singer-songwriter Sierra Hull (now 24) plays music from her Bela Fleck-produced album, "Weighted Mind." Scott Mulvahill opens.
