Experience an evening of fun with brass when the St. Louis Brass ensemble performs Thursday at 7 p.m. in Iles P.E. Center, 4870 University Drive.

Their program will feature selections from composer Astor Piazolla, including "Libertango," a new "Tribute to Pops" jazz medley along with popular favorites such "St. Louis Blues."

"We have a lot of fun with the audience," says trombonist Melvyn Jernigan. "It starts off kind of straight and then gets lighter as we go along."

Founded in 1964, the St. Louis Brass was originally formed by members of the St. Louis Symphony to play children's concerts. More than 50 years later, the quintet still plays concert tours across the United States and internationally each year.

Admission is $5 per person or free with a valid university ID.
